Seeking feedback formally, not only from leaders, but from peers and across lines of engagement really provides a clearer sense of self, strengths and areas for growth. However what I find most useful is the daily interaction and feedback loop that provides maximum impact and areas of opportunity. This daily or weekly feedback is usually informal and is ongoing with a lens on interaction, deliverables and performance. I have learnt so much more through these informal but candid conversations rather than formal one on ones. I take both formats seriously and learn from them.

When you have been doing a role for a long period of time, it can be quite easy to think that what you do is always the right way and that it is the only way. However it is really important to compare yourself to other peers, especially if they are performing well and see how you can improve and utilise their skills to merge it with your own style of working.

I would advise against comparing yourself to others as each person sets his/her own course in life. The pace, the challenges, the environment, and many other factors will influence every person road to success. Below are my thoughts: 1- Who you want to beat is yourself - make sure you are progressing towards your end goals.
