Again and as per the standards of aviation, you can also find the standards of the equipments to be used on the aircraft in the approved aircraft maintenance data manuals namely TEM ( tools and equipments manual ) and those equipment manufacturers clearly define the maintenance standards to be kept at all times to make the equipment airworthy for use on aircraft.

Proper, clear documentation is the key to safety in aviation, and this is also true about the equipment used on aircraft. They must have the GSE serviceable labels attached to them, with clear records of periodic inspections and tests which might be needed from time to time to keep them servicesble, even if they are not used on aircraft frequently. Also each usage shall be documented properly and accurately to serve as the supporting info for any shop visits of such equipment.
