This isn't rocket science - the quickest way to build your personal brand is to share value - share, share, share. A good friend of mine once said, "If you're not uncomfortable with the amount of value you're giving away free, then you're not giving enough." Added to this, become known as the world expert in one thing. Let it be your niche.

The best way to identify and build your niche is to look at your academic qualification. For example, a person with an academic background in accounting/commerce/finance is more likely to find that SAP FICO (Financial Accounting/Managerial Accouting) is a niche area than say, logistics, or HR. The fact that this niche also helps to position and promote your skills in front of relevant audiance, such as, CFOs and other finance professionals. Ensure to share your niche knowledge/expertise to benefit your target audiance.

I've found that nuturing professional relationships by attending to all or most connections is the best way to sustain a brand. The same relationships will then go out of the way to not only help or support when you need it, but also promote and even refer more opportunities for you. However, a word of caution here: Help as much as you can to build relationship but without expecting anything in return from anyone. We can't help everyone, but we can always try to help someone!

So if you really want to be successful and credible, regular learning and upgrading yourself is only way out. There are a large number of resources, online learning materials, podcast, books etc .The more you learn , the more you realise about your ignorance :) Keep Learning!!

In my experience the biggest challenge of implementing an ERP is to make users understand the reality that pain first, continuous for a while to reap long term benefits. This includes reduction in actual end users time and is critical for its ultimate success. Any ERP’s success is solely dependent on its usage. ERP implementation isn’t done over night. Need to understand the technical competency of actual end users, provide extensive training and show case future benefits to reduce work load, address specific unique business processes, etc. Define & make your ERP as user friendly as possible. Facilitate data porting, data integration to make it convenient for use. Else ERP might be operation success and patient died is my experience.
