Assessing the current situation should be followed by choosing your hard. Choose your stance regards to sustainability, stick to it and apply it wholly. Most brands will practice sustainability where its visible to the naked eye and none with staff supplies, or any other areas that are not immediately visible to clients. Such behaviours makes it impossible to train and empower the staff to sell this concept to clients??♀?

You have to be clear on your sustainability mission and this mission should then flow through everything that you do. You can't claim to be focussed on improving sustainability and do it in guest bedrooms but then not implement systems in the F&B spaces. You must be consistent to make change and engage your teams and guests.
