Not only virtually, your stuff can be hacked in-person too! For example, I am a local journalist. Whenever I get to a new place, I make sure my accommodation's safety is guaranteed, else I move about with two ton of my materials behind me. Digitally, if you must save data, make sure the software isn't pirated. In-person, make sure your guts trust the place. Otherwise, don't he too tired to move with your stuff —hence why you need a large backpack.

2 Enable two-factor authentication

Another layer of security that you can add to your accounts is two-factor authentication (2FA). This is a feature that requires you to enter a code or a token, in addition to your password, when you log in to a service. The code or token can be sent to your phone, email, or an app, such as Authy or Google Authenticator. 2FA can prevent hackers from accessing your accounts even if they have your password, as they would need the second factor as well. In my experience MFA is a baseline layer for Data Integrity. Not only authenticating with what you know but also with what you are / have. Ideally some sort of biometrics or a one time password through a physical device- We know MFA fatigue exists and no system is truly perfect, but in this day and age, this counter measure is non negotiable.

3 Encrypt your data

Encrypting data at rest and in transit is also a baseline for the CIA triad. Having Bitlocker at a minimum on an end device should be mandatory when working on the go. We know devices can be stolen or Hijacked - Encrypting data in transit is equally important and when talking to confidential sources - Out of band communications in a secure way is necessary
