Optimise and automate. are a good starting point for any organisation looking to benefit from the same. I tend to lean into the SAFe framework over ITIL for larger/more modern IT enablement orgs.

Not only does it more aligned to the business, but it's simplistic approach to IT Governance, makes it easily understood by all Management, including the C-Suite. The five IT perspectives can be used to assess the Effectiveness of how IT is being applied cross-functionally within an organization. It also covers the full life cycle of the IT process. The first and fifth perspectives focus on oversight roles, while the other three in between are the operational arms. After COBIT Governance focus, all other standards can fit in operationally.

DevOps and DevSecOps are the most successful way I have seen process and security improvements. When properly integrated with clear documentation around business requirements, clear delivery timelines, and documented data flows and access needs, the combination creates speed to market, secure deployments and consumer confidence. I have witnessed this first hand with e-commerce sites both properly integrated and improperly and 100% of the time when properly integrated, the products are 98% more secure, more reliable and more efficient. While it is difficult to break into an agile cycle. I recommend a slow integration with existing application development and a full integration with new development and innovation efforts.

Non of provided frameworks cover all aspects of IT organization but rather complements one another. In practice it means that modern organizations tend to implement different frameworks simultaneously and this might be quite a challenging task for IT leaders. A good starting point here would be creating a unified management system that would govern consolidating multiple frameworks under one common umbrella.
