In my experience with "complex" or "very technical" texts, I ask native speaker professionals (eg, doctors, engineers, etc) to read the text. I ask for their input. They validate terminology. Then, if time permits I send the text to a native speaker to check for nuances, coherence and if "it sounds weird". In other words the construction, wording or if it "sounds" as a translation. The idea is to have a text, that doesn't sound as a translation.
