You have to remember first of all that the people are not mini me's . Listening is the first key to teaching anything. Whats the motivation? What is the specific skillset? Strength and weaknesses. All are but a few of effective tools used in inside sales coaching.

Its imperative to establish crystal-clear and measurable goals, aligning individual objectives with overarching business targets. One of the ways I’ve always found helpful to effective inside sales coaching , is to always having the obsession to treating customers like they’re the last thing on earth you need to survive. In that sense, it becomes a habit and makes selling much more effective.

Second level is as close to live as possible like shadowing or observation. I feel is true that inside coaching sales is purely situational. It required a lot of things with the prospect. As one to one coaching is good for the personalized growth where we can focus on guidance, feedback and all where group coaching is also able to cover all those things but in some cases we realize that for teamwork and innovation it is required the most. I feel role playing is very practical and not suitable in most of cases because it need the standard and specific environment. In present days shadowing can be the method where we can use some analytical and observational way to extract the performance. Overall the main focus area is to build the trust, strategy and environment for those who are willing to learn and grow.

Giving feedback right after a sales interaction is like helping our team improve on the spot. It's like giving advice while the moment is still fresh in our minds. Feedback should be specific, telling us what we did well and what we can work on. It's important that it's fair and respectful, and not just a one-way conversation. We should listen to our team's thoughts too. Encouraging everyone to share feedback helps us all grow together and do better next time.

This is a challenging part because when your sales representatives don't follow the given commitments, violate promises, and return with repeated undesired behaviors and the same patterns. If the coach is also their supervisor, he can be rude, and signs of aggression can be depicted from his face, which will ultimately collapse psychological safety, transparency, and trust.
