Firstly, appreciating the system as a whole is crucial. This means recognizing that no part of the system is more important than another and understanding that systems are not about parts or components operating separately. A system's aim, interactions, and interdependence are vital. Each component has an obligation to the system, which includes competitors and the future. The boundary of a system extends to customers, emphasizing that the next person in the process is also a customer. Systems are based on synergistic relationships and is not up to what a component does by itself. Managing or cutting cost is not enough to assure quality. There are many examples of cutting cost leading to many quality challenges later on.

Human Factors, People, Mental Models & Psychology helps us understand people, their interactions, & the dynamics between customers & suppliers. People are central to quality management systems. Trust Building, cooperation throughout the system & a culture of respect is crucial. By fostering a cooperative environment and focusing on system optimization, a QMS can drive continuous improvement & long-term success. Another key thing to remember is cause & effect is not related in time & space. What we see in front our eyes can be results of decisions made years ago. It may also be the cumulative & delayed effect. To understand QMS we must understand system, people including customers, suppliers, stakeholders, variation & how & why people learn

Based on my experience, there are three most important aspects of the QMS. 1. Quality Policy & Objectives: A QMS should have a clear Quality Policy appropriate to the purpose and context of the organization, supports its strategic direction and provides a framework for setting SMART Quality Objectives at relevant functions, levels and processes. 2. Organizational Roles, Responsibilities & Authorities: The QMS should clearly define and communicate the roles, responsibilities and authorities for relevant roles across the organization. 3. Control of Production & Service Provision: The QMS should have well-defined processes and procedures for controlling and verifying the quality of products and services under controlled conditions.

When defining quality, there can be different definitions of quality within the same company. While Production views quality in terms of rejects and defects, Logistics is concerned with delivering the right order on time. And Purchasing concentrates on their suppliers’ performance, while administrative departments strive for timely and efficient processes. Each of these quality goals are interconnected. Purchasing ensures that the factory receives high-quality material. Who produces quality output as scheduled so that the logistics network can deliver on time. And everyone in the company works towards streamlining administrative practices. The common thread throughout these different departments is, or should be, a focus on your customer.

In my perspective, It will always be helpful if we consider the below important aspects. 1. Customer Satisfaction 2.Continuous Improvement 3.Reduced Errors 4.Compliance These aspects all work together to achieve a higher level of quality across the organization. Think of it as a cycle. * Happy customers lead to increased business. * Improved processes reduce costs and errors. * Reduced errors lead to higher quality. * Higher quality leads to happier customers.

Strategic Planning - Deployment of OKR (Objectives and Key Results) The Quality Management System QMS, must integrate the Strategy from Top Level, to where things happen: in the Operations in which the Value of the company is generated. Thinking Quality without a high conection with the Short and Long Terms Goals of the Company, should be considered as a Miopia (far sight poor view), due to the fact that what is really important is not a Flawless Process, but a Great Customer, and Employee Experience, through the QMS.

Understanding variation is another essential aspect. It involves recognizing and addressing the different types of variation affecting performance. Theory of Knowledge is integral, as it helps us understand that management is fundamentally about prediction. Every management action involves predicting future outcomes based on past observations and theoretical understanding. For example, planning how to go home involves predicting that your car will start or that public transport will be available. Psychology, or the management of human factors, is also critical. Instead of judging or ranking people, the focus should be on helping individuals optimize the system for everyone's benefit.
