In my opinion and as also explained here first thing would be to decide or choose a suitable venue /Golf course for the tournament. Organizers need to consider the location, accessibility, capacity, availability, and quality of the golf course and its facilities. They also need to negotiate the fees, contracts, and policies with the venue owner or manager. Organizers should visit the site in advance and inspect the condition of the course, the clubhouse, the parking lot, and the amenities. Additionally they should also check the weather forecast and contingency plans in case of rain or other disruptions.

One area that gets overlooked is having someone - or several people - taking care of the basics. Explaining the format/ rules for the day, completing/ distributing scorecards, managing cards as they come in, collating and checking results so the host can focus on caring for guests. It's a tough job, make sure you get someone on board who has experience and a kindly but firm manner. Illegible scorecards will be added to the 'exit' pile!

My final advice would be, promote and sell tickets. Start by creating a website, choosing an event registration app, or listing your event on a third-party event website.
