Anomaly is a deviation from the standard path. Now, the Million Dollar question is: What is "Standard"? The definition of "standard" can be dynamic and evolving. A good tool can tap metadata for every data transaction and allow you to set thresholds based on policies without needing to code this rule for every new rule. The tool can "define," "Identify bad events," "send alerts," and enable controls like "access and encryption," etc. The tool should have very little dependency on humans to keep them up-to-date.
