Uncertainty to retrieve services and data: you are putting your valuables in someone else’s house. 2. Security: it is up to you to properly configure the cloud environment, as appropriate for your business. This is not a baked in service, most of the time. 3. Disaster Recovery: Make sure to rest tour back ups and disaster recovery with your cloud service provider once per year, at a minimum.

As I see it, the same threats as traditional data center environments; the threat picture is the same. That is, cloud computing runs software, software has vulnerabilities, and adversaries try to exploit those vulnerabilities.

Melanie, you are correct that the threats are similar to a traditional data center. the difference is "in the cloud" your processes may be hosted externally. If so, then you may not have visibility to the system of internal controls employed by the cloud vendor to know if the threats have been mitigated and residual risk is acceptable. Tom
