Minimal usage of highly technical terminologies...and using more of commonly used words...citing examples pertaining to daily life for explaining the context and simplification of the complex topic with intermittent jokes.

To effectively engage a diverse audience, it's crucial to understand their perspectives and tailor your presentation accordingly. By considering their background, interests, and learning preferences, you can create a cohesive and engaging experience for everyone. Leverage your audience's existing knowledge to bridge the gap between new concepts and their frame of reference, ensuring that everyone can keep pace. Employ relatable analogies, shared experiences, and language that resonates with their backgrounds to connect the unfamiliar to the familiar.

In a presentation you need to be relevant to the audiance problems and how your product can help them resolve. Most important is of you can showcase the solution or give reference that will bring in more confidence. Most important keep it interactive.

Know your content! If you are confident in your subject matter, drive the discussion organically. Typically 'driving' connotates that you are 'staying on script' vs allowing the dynamics of the room dictate the energy. As a kid I used to love classes where teachers tell stories. Those were much more interesting than normal classes. Same now, when I pitch to my potential investors and VCs, I always narrate the concept as a story. The success of ur pitch primarily depends on how u narrate the story. - Starting from the Problem Statement, Proposed Solution, Market validation with sufficient data, business model, traction etc. (In case of start-ups)

More pictorial presentation than technical. 5.starting of the presentation itself needs to be made comfortable and interested in the topics .

Stories are a powerful medium to get our audience to sit up and listen to us. For this reason, we should aim to “show” rather than “tell” our audience about a topic, insight, or idea. For example, don’t just state facts or figures about the dangers of not investing in their retirement. Instead, share the story of someone we know who failed to plan for their retirement, nudging our audience towards making their own conclusions or insights. Also we shouldn't bombard our audience with too much information all at once. Avoid jargon or complex concepts without sharing a story that’ll resonate with them. With compelling storytelling, we can create anticipation and then slowly build up to our key points.

I am a big fan of visual aids. Mind maps, graphs, charts, short video clips and visual questions are some of the audio visual tools that have been successfully used in the presentations to make the talk lively and engaging. However, too much text, long video clips and overwhelming graphs/charts can deter the audience even if the presenter tries to explain. As soon as you put the complex visual aid on the screen, the audience can get disengaged right from that moment. Then, it's hard to bring them back to the presentation.

You ask a pointed question to your audience that makes them think and then pick on someone if no one is willing to answer. Eye-contact with your audience, don’t look to the ceiling or to the air. If you keep your eyes on the audience, you will have them, otherwise, they are lost and not focused as you are.

In my experience asking intriguing questions enables you to draw your audience’s attention and highlight key points at the same time. For example, you are conducting a presentation on the Roman empire. You want to get your audience’s attention, so you raise questions such as what they know about the Roman empire, and how did the Roman empire impact modern society? The audience may or may not get the right answers, but they will most likely try their best to answer your questions. The resulting exchange of ideas will make your presentation more spontaneous and engaging.

I want you to think of the best stand-up show you've seen - how did they keep you engaged? go beyond varying tone and pace. Tell short, relevant stories that allow connection with your message. Ask rhetorical questions that prompt reflection. Throw in some fun gestures and eye contact, like you're sharing secrets with friends. And don't just stand still - move around the stage, using gestures for emphasis. If you're having fun, so will they!

Something I learned from doing 2000 kids and family magic shows is that if you want to get the attention of the audience 1. lower your voice and say ...' I want to let you in on a secret...' People never want to miss out on a secret. 2. 'my father told me this, his father told him and his father before that....' This works for adult audiences as well as it does for childrens audiences. Why? Because we are hungry for wisdom. We all want to know something that is going make our lives less painful.

There are different kinds of learners. Some absorb information quicker if it's visual while others need action. To keep most types engaged, vary how you present your stuff. Also, relatable and relevant analogies work best.

In addition to above, you should have a certain level of professionalism. This shows that you know what you are doing. Also technically prepare what you are about to discuss, anticipate questions and provide multiple answers towards each.

Maintaining a great engagement quotient with your audience depends a lot on the medium you are using to convey yourself. A presentation need not be an epic with too much statistics, too much animation or too much readable content. Keep it brief, back by facts and should be clearly visible to your audience whether in person or virtually. The delivery pitch and the tone also play an important role as you don't want to sound like a robot blindly reading or speaking from a teleprompter. Include rhetorical questions, sneak some humor or a fun element while you illustrate your content, take brief pauses and allow your audience to process and understand you.

Perhaps the most valuable thing I’ve learned about engaging large audiences is to claim your presence and establish yourself in the space. To do this, before I even say a word, I stand in front of the audience silently take a deep breath, I look at everyone and I take a moment to occupy the full expanse of my physical being. When you take a moment and claim your space, your audience will become captivated before you even utter a word. It gets everyone in the room into the present moment. Take a second to let the silence be there. Then begin with a bold and powerful opener. Try it. You’ll be amazed.
