You can do this if you're trained. Be kind and realistic. Only discuss job related task and expectations with the candidate. Having a diversified group of people in a team have advantage, not to shy people but giving them chance for them to grow and conquer their differences.

Yes, everything said on these pages is true. However, I found out that the best way to calm students down is to give them time . I give them time to adapt to the situation by asking them formal questions. They can choose whether they want to answer exam questions immediately or they want to put down on paper summery. If they are more than usual anxious I offer them coffe or some beverage and offer them to take exam later. I am showing them that I am benevolent by helping them to figure out answers.. Very rare I delayed examination for another day. .
