From my experience working as a 3D printing engineer. My activities were designing and optimizing 3D printing processes. Also, I worked with the design team to create digital models with DFAM principles, select suitable materials, and ensure the efficient operation of 3D printers. Additionally, you must be ready to troubleshoot issues, optimize printing parameters, and stay updated on advancements in 3D printing technologies.

It is really difficult to get a good overview because of the various 3D-printing technologies + avaiable materials. Start with your application and define the required properties you are aiming for. Based on this decisions go ahead with choosing the combination out of material + printing-technology.
