The first thing would be not to make a hasty decision without written confirmation if possible. If I made the decision without that, then hopefully I have a support team to lean on for a resolution. My MEP coordinator should be aware of my discussions and or decisions.

If I didn’t already view the project timelines then I already failed. Contract schedule vs real schedule is something that is typically fought in the field. Precon typically fails at this. If the contractor is good at their job than they realize that their scheduling program isn’t perfect and they work with you. With this… you shouldn’t make mistakes

I agree that involving your team has its advantages. On the other hand, it’s my experience that would give them the solution. Ask how they would do it, risk/reward on how you would do it, and then make a decision best for the project and morale

If I made the plan as a super then I own it. If I failed my team then they should have no pressure on them. I may ask for input on realistic timelines. Ultimately I failed though and I will find the solution being that’s what I’m paid for
