What do you do if you're struggling to answer data structure interview questions?

It is very important to give at least one correct solution and optimal solution within time. Try approaching a problem step by step towards a solution by asking right questions to the interviewer. Feedback can also help if you are heading in right direction. Think about time complexity and space complexity.

Don't start solving LeetCode problems right away. I've been teaching DSA for over 4 years and have mentored over 1,000 students. The biggest mistake they make is jumping directly into LeetCode problems. Instead, they should first solidify their understanding of the fundamental concepts behind every Data Structure and Algorithm they encounter while solving problems. We need to understand why these fundamentals are important. That's why I always emphasize the importance of a strong foundation.

Leetcode! Solve problems and in the journey of solving problems, revisit the topics that you need to. Spending immense amount of time and energy on first learning the basics and then coding will only eat up your time.

He is there to help you clarify the problem and might also drop some hints here and there. In order to catch the hints, you have to keep your calm and focus on what s/he is speaking about.

Look for interview questions of the other candidates, who appeared for the interview for that company. This helps in keeping check of missed topics, if-any. Also, with other candidates'experiences, you get an idea of what to expect, and how you will proceed on it..

Oh, easy! Just panic wildly, break into a cold sweat, and start questioning all your life choices. Then, as a brilliant last resort, maybe consider Googling frantically for the answers while praying to the algorithm gods for mercy. Alternatively, you could try channeling your inner data structure guru by summoning the spirits of ancient programmers and hoping for divine inspiration. And if all else fails, just wing it with some wild guesses and hope the interviewer is too amused to notice your total lack of comprehension.
