Learning should never stop. As a HR professional I am always look for new people without loosing touch with your previous employees. Always upgrade your self without forgeting the roots. As learning new technologies will always help but as a HR, human touch should be the first thing you should have.

HR professionals to expand their horizons in later years should proceed with following mapping: 1. Introspection at the workplace to invite balance while making step towards executing emotional intelligence practically. 2. Inter-connectedness between your past and present experiences of problem solving attributes to make a reliable, effective decisions to bring logical yet considerate solutions. 3. Escalating your area of expertise on inviting other people to contribute, thus having a learning attitude from the slightest innovation. 4. I'm constantly drawn to fresh challenges—a new task, process, or industry. Embracing these opportunities is essential for personal growth, making each day worthwhile. Last year for me was full of Handling the complexities of global expansions and managing a diverse workforce across different cultures , and even time zones. This year is gonna be filled with new challenges and i am always ready.

Seeking challenges can be an effective way to grow personally and professionally. Challenges can push us out of our comfort zone, encourage learning and skill development, and foster resilience. The aim for objectives that are slightly beyond our current abilities but still achievable with effort and dedication. This could involve pursuing a promotion, learning a new skill, or taking on a leadership role in a project.

It's hard to plan one's own career path. I suggest the following: Know your "why". Explore your options. Deeply discover the gaps in your experience and expertise. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Network strategically. The key is to be proactive and take charge of your advancement!

Creating a plan for career is always better but sometime it doesn't work. Life is unpredictable beat personal or professional. So plan can be change according to the desirable and situation. Here you can surely analyse what was the plan and what is the demand of the hour, try to amend the same and you are good to go.

Can consider becoming a HR Consultant in our later career years. Our vast experience is like gold in HR, far beyond what textbooks can teach. It's the practical, on-the-ground knowledge we've accumulated over the years that make us a valuable HR Consultant. With the tech boom and the growing role of AI in HR, our expertise becomes even more invaluable. While technology is important, it can't replace the need for seasoned guidance.

Plan ahead: As HR professionals you are building your own personal brand and your career story the day you started your career. Who are you as an HR professional starts at the beginning and that story will reveal the last chapter, therefore work on projects now and offer your EVP (employee value proposition) that will take you to that job at an advanced career step!

This is where I find myself. My first thought is to “turn back time” and call my plastic surgeon, but there’s a limit to their skill ????. So, as I continue to heal……??and evaluate whats next; gazing in the rear view mirror feels limiting. My path forward is not deeply rooted in the past. That playbook is worn-out. Honestly, my network feels less connected, cohesive with inconsistent follow up. The pandemic changed us in ways that we’re just starting to fully grasp. A new direction will require broad engagement rather than a narrow focus. For me, it’s about greater goal clarity, nurturing & expanding my network and investing in learning. I also know it’s time to give back to the profession and our new rising talent. It’s who we are!

For example, maybe pursuit of certifications in Coaching and Mentoring, where you help others strengthen their leadership skills, coaching inter-personal skills and or mentoring other HR Practitioners. Also, hone your speaking and presentation skills and look for opportunities to speak to professional organizations and groups. Key factor is to be open to possibilities and opportunities, and not be boxed into expected confines.
