According to me if you want make your career in film production Hone these skills. 1.Build a portfolio. 2.Network like crazy. 3.Seek internships or entry-level roles. 4.online platforms. 5.Volunteer or freelance. 6.Stay persistent and positive.

From my 10 years working in the industry you can land jobs by following couple of steps 1.Craft your tools know your equipment by heart and enhance on them 2. shoot even if its for free for startup brands in return to use it for your portfolio. don't be shy to send to clients and put yourself out there every one had a starting point 3.decide what do you want work and in which department and learn learn learn YouTube can be your best friend. 4.Learn from other and watch break downs of films. 5.own a camera even ANY camera really whatever you can afford 6. It takes time effort and long hours of learning. 7. believe in yourself you will have time where you will lose your track, don't give up fail and learn and try again.

get and build relevant skills either through formal or informal training. learn the basics, build on them look for free roles to upskill and also build your portfolio.

Any job in production requires you to develop a skill set in world building & capturing the diegesis of that world in detail. The first thing you need to demonstrate is an eye for detail. To hone this skill set, start with photographs/ video clips that capture the details of the world around you. With time you can add/modify the elements in the frame to define the world more. The more your socials showcase your ability to capture the world around you - unique locations or unique perspectives of known locations, ability to communicate ten thousand words though a single pic or clip, should help you get jobs or queries through your socials. See yourself as a storyteller - one interested in providing details of the world you see/wish to show.

i would be a third wheel for everybody, so i have the best of both world. A gaffer eating with a spark, i'll be in the middle and the gaffer's 15 years experience is spilled by the spark or the gaffer would eventually talk it through the whole 15 years.

Read 3 books: Contagious by Jonah Berger; Hustle harder hustle smarter by Curtis Jackson and "WILL" by Will Smith. - That is ALL the knowhow you will ever need to understand the biz. Now that you know everything, start the doing. Noone needs you. Or at least they don't know it. Think different. Who needs film? - Where is it hurting the most? - Currently ′24, it is two things: Recruiting, and attention. So, go out. Maybe door2door, maybe free and start shooting. You don't have a cam? Use your phone. You don't know how to edit? Use AI or Fiverr. As long as you get the results as you envisioned it, it does not matter. - Networking is not talking. Networking is doing.

Networking starts from your early days of learnings. School, college, institute, or a group. Build strong relationships from early stages, this will help you in long run. Nobody wants to work with a newbie until you have strong reference or strong portfolio. Enrich, collaborate and create together helps in fostering the relationship. So go out there and just start hitting up companies you love and feel to gain some momentum.

Mein Tipp für Starter in der Filmindustrie: Niemand braucht dich, niemand will dich und du kannst nix. Aber das macht nix. Zeit ist deine Trumpfkarte. Agenturen haben nur Stunden für etwas, was du Wochen vorbereiten kannst. Du kannst alles planen. Alles Skripten und dann musst du es verkaufen. Niemand will es kaufen. Kein Ding. Schraub weiter. Trash das Drehbuch, Geh es nochmal neu an. Pitch es nochmal. Nutze KI. Lass dich inspirieren, und mach es besser. Und dann irgendwann ist es geil genug. Du kriegst deine Arbeitszeit nicht gezahlt, aber du kriegst den Fu? in die Tür. Und dann mach weiter. Verkauf es nochmal du schaffst das. Ein Verkauf im Filmbiz dauert 1 Jahr, manchmal 3 Jahre. Dein Vorteil: Die anderen geben vor dir auf.

It matters if you can prove that you can actually get s**t done. If you got vision, grind and the crew to back the grand pitch proposal of yours. Work through the motion of agency business. Hone your craft. Work on it. Your first results WILL be trash. That's okay. Look at the first results of people you look up to. You will see they were trash from a technical crafts stand point. But there is also a similarity between you and them: You both are super creative. Be brave to use tech. It sucks, but it is worth is to outperform your competitors. It sucks for themtoo

The best way to get in or to stand out is to take anyones last piece of work ( based on your expertise and who do you wanted to work with). Recreate that small piece, it could a poster, a music chunk, photography, a few second scene, a cut or a transition, anything where you can think of you can real value. The trick is if you can recreate in lesser budget, lesser time and with additional value to the output.
