What do you do if you're asked "Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years I see myself contributing as a product that develops stories with a group of young and innovative writers. New ideas and working as a team to find new ways of telling.

Imagine being asked this inane question in 2019. "Well, I predict that I will be rebuilding a life that was disrupted by a global pandemic..."

I see my self still working. Creating and inventing things to share with creative people, and looking for new experiences and waiting for friends to share a good cup of wine and sharing life

My strategy for answering to this question or to the similar questions is to speak about my desired result in my professional development path not speaking about the route and details of its achievement. In other words I will answer by explaining "what" I want to touch as a personal vision, not "How" (however I may have my own plans for this) and to add more I will also address the necessary attitudes that contribute to what I want. Being ready to change the "How"s for "what" you want is the key point to convey in my point of view.

a) Complete a postdoctoral degree in applied neurolinguistic and audiovisual artificial intelligence. b) Obtain a new master's degree related to your professional interests and goals. c) Enhance your audiovisual skills to establish yourself in areas such as microlearning, TikTok, webmaster, reels, YouTube Shorts, and short films. d) Finish your novels of erotic fiction and seek opportunities for publication. e) Sell your paintings and illustrations through online galleries or local exhibitions. f) Explore the possibility of selling your music, either through streaming platforms or by creating soundtracks for audiovisual projects.

I often ask people I'm interviewing for positions what their longer-term goals are and how they intend to get there because it reveals a lot about what type of team member they're likely to be, both in terms of doing the role I'm interviewing for, approach to learning and developing additional skills. And for the individual, a strong idea of where you'd like to get to is very helpful in terms of mapping out getting there. In all honesty, I wish I had sat down earlier in my career and thought more about where I wanted to be in 5-10 years and what route I might take to get there. It's not always easy given the intense nature of the industry but it is very useful.

I always want to sharpening my skills in filmmaking in order to go with the competition. Always making sure to learn something new from the great filmmakers. Revamping my career goals. So in 5 years later i will be somewhere else in top of mountain

Be better at what you do and be a better you. Grow, Embrace challenge, ask yourself "what if." Create from the soul with the world in mind.

My plans or goals are to connect and network with various banks or financial institutions that will loan against any collateral that has already been secured on our selective projects. I also would like to share more of my insight on Film panels regarding the Film business aspect and where it stands and the direction it's heading towards.

Honestly, when we speak about skills set, is one of the most crucial part of an organisations goal to its team. When you built different skill sets, you get a chance to progress under every capacity. When your team has more than one skill or a different skill from what they are known for, it becomes easy for the brand or company to progress well. So when I'm asked where will I be in 5years and I have a team of different skill sets? Well, I can be anywhere I want.

A continuous desire to question, learn and progress is vital both in terms of skills but also storytelling. Without it new stories and new ways of telling them cease to exist. And what a sad place the World would become.

There’s always room for improvement, regardless of the circumstances, always finding ways to work smarter not harder is the absolute key to improving skills. Finding new ways is key and learning old ways is always important. Rather than focusing on the five years, it will come before you know it…focus on the now and challenge any possible opportunities that make you uncomfortable, and in five years you will overcome these and possibly pass the skills on to someone for their next five year dream.

Learn your craft, focus on the aspect that inspires you to create. Then study the tools give yourself permission to grow, fail and succeed. The journey is your development of your creative signature and mastery.

Keeping up with industry trends and ongoing education is vital in the fast-paced world of film and beyond. It not only sharpens our skills but also broadens our horizons, enabling us to innovate and adapt in creative and dynamic ways. I kinda fall both sides of the fence when it comes to industry trends. On the one hand, absolutely stay abreast of what is going on in the film industry, take it on board and respond to it. But at the same time be prepared to challenge and go against those trends, and be a trend setter rather than a trend follower.

Yes this is very important with the new Technology and where things are leaning towards in the streaming world. We definitely need to ride the "New Wave" so to speak in order to know how to maneuver through different platforms, portals and how to generate the proper revenue. I also plan on gaining as much knowledge as possible to stay on point with this new movement.

Building a robust network in the film industry is a strategic move that pays dividends both now and in the future. Start by engaging with peers and mentors to exchange insights and collaborate on projects, strengthening your professional ties. Over the next five years, these connections will mature into strategic partnerships, providing critical support and opening up new opportunities as the industry evolves.

Networking is key, especially for those who are in the Entertainment or Film business. We have to meet the right individuals or professionals that you or we can learn from. It's all about connecting and working together for a greater common goal. I actually already know a lot Industry Professionals..

I do not now, nor have I ever, had a "5-year goal". Simply put, I wake up each morning with gratitude for being alive and healthy. From that point on, I see what God has in store for me. So far, it's been one heck of a fantastic ride and SO much better than anything I could set forth as a goal for myself.

If you're lucky, you're doing what you want to do in five years right now; you've already figured out what you love and you're doing it.

Is it for an interview? If so make sure your 5 year plan includes something that benefits the company you’re interviewing for. Is it for a meeting? If you’re meeting with a colleague and they ask always give an ambitious version of your answer. In my experience people in film love big ideas as long as the path to them is realistic. I personally have a few different five year plans I’m working on at any given moment so I tailor my answer to my audience while still being truthful. Tell the truth but tell it in a way your audience will enjoy, relate with or look up to.

In five years, I see myself immersed in a world of light and shadows, capturing unique moments and sincere emotions through the lens of my camera or my phone, every little clip I direct is a piece of my soul that I share with the world, and in the future, I hope to continue weaving stories that inspire, entertain, touch, and transform both children and adults alike. My love for video and content creation is my compass on this journey, guiding me towards new creative adventures and unforgettable experiences.
