What do you do if you're asked to demonstrate your ERP system knowledge during an interview?

Please invest time to prepare for the interview, no matter how hands on you’re. Personally, I’ve observed many people don’t prepare well, even their introductions aren’t well articulated! Spend good couple of days, to go through your projects, training materials and most importantly background of the firm you’re applying for, it will help you articulate your answers well. Just one tip, you aren’t supposed to know everything, so feel confident in saying so, rather than…! Good luck.

I'd also be prepared to whiteboard a solution to a business process, showing how I'd configure the ERP to address it. Key point: Show practical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and business acumen. By linking ERP functionality to real business impacts, I'd prove my value beyond just technical know-how.

The best way to describe a project is to pick a complex project where you played key role, preferably a challenging project where lots of custom reports, customisations, integrations are involved which will help to showcase your problem-solving and analytical skills. Walk through each phase of the project where you played an important role. Conducting Requirement gathering workshops, conference room pilots, system integration testing, testing and user training, go live and support. During these phases important tasks you handled - configuration and customization, integration designs, report designs, data migrations, etc.
