Potential solutions have a way of multiplying if not wrangled in. Early phases should be about discovery, not problem solving. I'd take a step back to assess what problem you're truly trying to solve rather than rush into a crowded sandbox of options. Talk to your collaborators to align on priorities. Sketch experiences, not components. Maps will emerge from patterns in how users think, not our flashes of invention. With focus comes clarity. You'll find the best answers by understanding user needs rather than chasing every thought. Stay curious but don't lose sight of the North Star - make it easy, make it evident. Before doing any ideation, I would write in a sentence the task that will me validate and identify the best solution. It needs to be SMART goal and to have a single answer, when performed. Will be super clear about the timeframe and resources /design & development/ dedicated for it. Then will bring the collaborating team that will be working on it - designer, QA, developer, PO - evaluate ideas considering the limitations and resources we have. We'll group ideas by similarity and then each person will vote for each of them. From top 3 ideas, the team will create one idea that can be done realistically - design, development and testing.

Consider ideas and go for solutions that directly relate to: - improvement in KPIs that define a successful solution - improvement in KPIs in perceived value/efficiency - holistic and integral change in the product and organisation - be able to be done within the timeframe and resources If not, start a discussion on cutting all: "nice to haves" that increase complexity & cognitive load and create distraction & friction for users.

If you are not integrating feedback in your process, it could put the success of the endeavour at risk and lead you to one-sided solution that might not be technologically feasible.

Better create paper prototypes and sketches and do Guerrilla testing with other team member that will be impacted by the solution but are not currently involved in the co-creation process of crafting a solution, to get feedback on time. AI can give some feedback too. Teach it first about the problem, the target audience and the context - industry and business, so that it gives at least some helpful feedback. Fail quick and often. Learn and implement findings and insights and create better solution in less time, than waiting for a strong solution to get feedback.

I recently learnt of a new tool called Notion, from working at my current job here in Canada. Not only is Notion free, but it combines the best qualities of Confluence and Jira all in one place. It takes some learning to fully utilize it, but it helps tremendously with planning and organizing my work and my team's work as well.
