What do you do if your temporary and contract colleagues in global talent acquisition are unresponsive?
Global talent acquisition (GTA) is a strategic process of finding and hiring the best talent for your organization across different countries and regions. This involves managing the talent lifecycle, such as sourcing, screening, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retaining. However, it is not always a permanent or full-time endeavor; in times of uncertainty, change, or growth, you may need to hire temporary or contract workers to fill specific roles or projects. These workers are not regular employees of your organization but are hired through a staffing agency, a freelancer platform, or directly by your GTA team. They offer flexibility, diversity, and cost-effectiveness for your GTA strategy; however, they also pose some challenges and risks. One of the most common issues you may face is unresponsiveness - when temporary or contract colleagues do not communicate with you or your team in a timely, clear, or consistent manner. This can affect your GTA goals, deadlines, quality, and reputation. Unresponsiveness can be caused by lack of clarity on expectations and roles/responsibilities; lack of trust/engagement/motivation from the temporary/contract workers; lack of feedback/recognition/support from the GTA team; cultural/linguistic/technical barriers; and personal/professional issues or conflicts.
