When someone fails to perform, it is because of a failure of Want-To, How-To, or Can-Do. If someone has Want-To and Can-Do, but lacks How-To, this suggests training and coaching is in order. The person has the desire and ability, but lacks knowledge. If someone has Want-To and How-To, but not Can-Do, you're put the person in the wrong seat. He will never succeed where he is so you either find a place where he can perform or release him to succeed somewhere else. If someone lacks Want-To, all of the ability and knowledge in the world is insufficient. Furthermore, his attitude is a virus that's capable of infecting others. Release him immediately. Everyone else on the team will wonder why you waited so long.
