By capitalising on each other's strengths, the team can achieve more, even when some members are working to improve in certain areas. People sometimes just need a little bit of support to develop.
For a team leader lacking in key areas, consider creating a peer mentorship program, pairing them with other leaders who excel in those missing qualities. Initiate a 'leadership book club' where the team reads and discusses leadership literature, fostering a culture of learning and self-improvement. Suggest engaging in role-reversal exercises, where the leader takes on team tasks and vice versa, to gain new perspectives and empathy. Organize a team-led feedback workshop, using creative, non-confrontational methods like anonymous suggestion boxes or role-play scenarios to communicate areas of improvement.
