What do you do if your team lacks motivation to grow and develop in Financial Technology?

Addressing a lack of motivation in a Financial Technology team involves fostering a growth-oriented culture. Implement regular feedback sessions to understand individual aspirations and align them with organizational goals. Offer training programs, mentorship opportunities, and recognition for achievements to inspire growth. Encourage collaboration and innovation to keep team members engaged and excited about their work.

I think first and foremost if you have a team lacking motivation you start not by assessing needs but by assessing leadership. Teams don't become lackluster or uninterested because of poor roadmaps, not initially. They become this way due to poor leadership, so you start by fixing the leaders in the company and how they lead by example, then you can assess what else needs to occur to help encourage the team.

If leadership is doing everything correctly the next step is to consider how the leadership is getting involved with the team. What I mean is, if leadership isn't rolling up their sleeves and helping cultivate the innovation and motivation by being part of the process then the issue is really there. If they are rolling up their sleeves as well, then its much easier to get the team to buy-in to the goals. Create a roadmap together. Have regulary team check-ins so that the leaders are an active part of the goal making and goal achieving. A true team has a leader that seamless is part of it, not just supervising it.

Start by educating yourself on the advantages and risks of fintech tools, then gradually jive them into your routine. Consistency is key in forming new habits, so make a conscious effort to prioritise fintech in your daily activities. Stay informed!
