What do you do if your team is failing to meet deadlines and lacks a sense of urgency and accountability?

First, I'd go "gaga" in my mind, of course. Why would anyone not see the relevance of time. I guess I've always had deadlines since being about 6years old. I didn't meet all deadlines ?? but I didn't ignore them. So I'd truly be interested in my team's motivation for ignoring deadlines. Maybe it's the cool trend of the new generation or they can't tie their inactions to business shut down....I need to understand which side of the fence we are all seating on.

One things I've found helpful is maintaining a positive and encouraging tone and?focus on solutions and moving forward. The other bit is always relying on empathic enquiry. One doesn't exactly know what others may be going through that impacted their behaviour. There should always room to find that out. "I hope you are okay", " how can i help?! "How can we do this together?! "

This will persist. Usually this is not a skill or will to deliver problems. The cause is veiled.
