What do you do if your system development lacks creativity in driving innovation?

An open mindset is requisite for innovation. I will encourage my team to be more receptive to new ideas, and be willing to take on challenges, step out of their comfort zone, and learn from past experiences.

Innovation is not a t20 match where you can have all rounders alone, its a test match where u need batsmen, bowlers, spinners, you need all the talent and skillset to solve a problem, ian interesting story, once i had to do PoC to replace a SQL to NoSql , we were doing performance benchmark where oracle was not doing well , we were searching all the document to see why performance was low even when sga size was adequate, our DBA expert couldnt figure out the thing. I had to check with other SME but none could figure the Root cause. Finally i went to my manager and told him the issue. He said he would take look, he went through the data and pointed that delay was due to network , the machine was indifferent n/w location. Out of box solution

Early in my R&D career, I was curious about exploring unconventional approaches to developing and formulating generic pharmaceutical products. However, my supervisor didn't support my ideas, and I felt restricted in my ability to grow and develop. I was confined to specific ideas dictated by my supervisor. When my supervisor resigned, I came under the direct supervision of the department manager. He gave me the freedom to express my creativity and experiment with unconventional ideas. This ignited my creativity and helped me develop professionally. Giving your team the freedom to explore their curiosity will foster creativity and innovation, leading to unexpected solutions.

You never know the result of new things no matter how much you think, plan, analyze or predict. Trial and error was always part of development. Just try and do enhancement over and over to your systems.

Identify problems and work out different solutions instead of going the safe path. An innovative culture creates conditions for people to harness their skills, broaden their knowledge, and keep up with the latest technology stacks continuously.

Innovation is about working smarter, not for any individual, but altogether. That’s why it is necessary to encourage communication and cooperation among members and across teams.
