It is not clear to me what creativity in software is. I feel that one should write code that is easy to maintain. Usually security is an OS concern, but if one has to deal with it at algorithmic level by say obfuscation, then I feel two versions of the code must be maintained, one which is intended for the developer, and another for distribution. Automation may be used to introduce security features in the former version.
