Automation liberates time previously spent on mundane activities, empowering you to delve deeper into stakeholder engagement and program evaluation. In my experience, embracing change also implies being flexible in approach. Sometimes process gets in the way of results and embracing change requires finding ways that optimise outcome without impacting quality.

I look forward to the day when quality AI technology is routinely adopted for project management/coordination. Imagine if the myriad mundane, lower value, tasks could be done through AI so you could focus on the high value tasks. If you could spend more time understanding business need and requirements, coaching, mentoring, and improving your skillset and less time creating plans and standardized status reports. This would help you move the needle in the right direction. We need to learn how to leverage AI to make things better.

Look, AI isn't going to take your job away from you, but unless you embrace technological advances, whether it be new and improved software, hardware or AI, you will be left behind.

In my experience, bringing in an AI tool is rarely for one role and/or one person. Common and consistent understanding of the tool functionality and usage supports long-term buy in. Additionally, collaboration with other users is a phenomenal learning opportunity. Build the base training and get that info out there. And be sure to set up a format for knowledge share and tips and tricks to continue to grow together.
