In my experience, the best thing to do first is to become self-aware of what is going on with you. Has your needs for a leader changed or are you spending time on working and not really paying attention to your relationship with your remote team? What are the signs for you that the relationship is actually weaking? What are you unhappy with? Also consider if this is weakening of the relationship or natural progression of a team that has been working together for a long time. Become aware of the advantages of the situation and the disadvantages. And be honest about your role in the relationship.
