What do you do if your project timelines and deadlines are spiraling out of control?

This scenario will and will always be there, first of all there so many factors that contribute to this scenario unless there is good corporation and other factors which will lead to this. First of all, one has to go back to the drawing board of the project itself step by step. with me I have faced problems like this before where I get issues like, no constant power, luck of skilled personnel, bad weathers, theft, political issues. in fact, so many issues will lead to project extension or delay.

We have to identify the challenges and roadblocks to ensure we are keeping all these points in the mind during the execution of the project.

Re-checking the scope will provide a clear insight about the delay in timeline, also review changes requested and their effects on time. Set priorities to tasks and start do work packages in parallel in possible. Increase resources or ask for vendors assistance to complete the scope within time frame

Priorizing tasks are so important to do tasks in effective way and time. When we prioritise tasks we should do a profound analysis and based on analysis we can do a tasks timely. Kanban and Scrum framework will help the tasks to be done with time and in effective way. We can follow up tasks based on their to-do- list.

Reorganize and Prioritize Tasks: ? Use project management tools to identify critical paths and determine which tasks can be delayed without affecting overall project delivery. ? Prioritize high-impact tasks to ensure the most crucial parts are completed first.

We have to prioritise task as per their importance in the project . Some part of project can be added at a later stage and also during our testing like adding security rules.

Request Additional Resources: ? If the delays are due to a lack of resources and you notice that current engineers are burning both ends of the candle, immediately call a meeting with leadership requesting additional team members, tools, or budget. ? Be transparent and explain to management and leaders the requirements to get the work completed was under-estimated and the project scope on current resources is unsustainable. The additional resources will ensure the deadlines are met.

Deadlines are the nightmare of projects.Various causes can induce this:fail in supply,fail of manpower,project and design not fit to real conditions etc.Pressure of deadline can be reflected in leader behaviour and also in team behaviour ,becoming itself a factor of delays.Than a carefully check of project applying strategy it is strongly demanded,considering all factors involved in process.This analyse .we can call it preplan, can help you to prevent and corect the delay factors at every stage of project.I think that we must consider and unlikely objective factors which can appear and to have a strategy to compensate their influence so that to remain in schedule or to have minimum delays possible.
