Understanding business needs is the foremost thing needed to implement efficient automation. To develop specific objectives and conduct thorough process analysis for automation initiatives, start by identifying the overarching goals, such as increasing operational efficiency or accuracy. Specify the scope by identifying tasks or processes to automate and establishing quantifiable outcomes that are related to company goals. Document current processes, identify pain points, bottlenecks, and error rates, and involve stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding. Prioritize automation opportunities by impact, complexity, and ROI, with a focus on high-impact optimization process.

If my process automation project requires efficient automation, I assess the current processes thoroughly to identify areas for improvement and automation opportunities. Then, I select and implement appropriate automation tools and technologies, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. Throughout the project, I continuously monitor and optimize the automation workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Additionally, I collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments, ensuring that the automation solution meets their requirements effectively.

Embracing CI/CD along with Parallel Executions: We frequently write scripts, but we either never use them again or don't run them again. However, we must begin embracing continuous integration in order to effectively utilize what was built. This means that our block of code is tested against each build that is deployed, ensuring that the application is operating as intended. Adopting CI/CD in conjunction with parallel executions will help us cut down on execution time, allowing us to test continuously and ensure that the application is reliable and functioning as intended in less time.

It is also very important to choose a tool that is actively being developed. Choosing a tool that is dead or archived means you will have to take on issues and features yourself.

Of course the system must be tested correctly using system engineering principles to ensure the system design does what it is intended to do.

To keep stakeholders and process subject matter experts informed of the change, we must constantly monitor and maintain the automation's health. Training users to use automation more effectively, always gather continuous feedback to identify areas for ongoing improvement.

It is critical to plan to reduce resistance to change. It is only natural to maintain the status quo, it's easier or less stressful because it is known. Change management is a systemic approach to manage people during organizational transitions. Change management ensures people are equipped and supported through the transition.

Is good to know that automation will not solve all problems that we have. Sometimes we can’t automate all the process, but if we can automate a part of than will have a good gain, for example. I’m dealing with a case like this in the company I work for. Is impossible atm automatize all the process, but we will have 80%+ efficiency automatizing a part of it.
