As a Respiratory Therapist, for example, we have access to a National Board, a national Association, and an accrediting agency. Each of these offers a wealth of connection opportunities. 4) Virtual or in-person conferences. Don't just be present, be an active participant.

How to find out about events is often where people struggle. Utilising apps such as LinkedIn and Eventbrite have been helpful for me in finding out about events that I’m interested in. Searching for events that are tailored around your interests also helps!

Research those attending; join with them on LinkedIn in advance and of course afterwards. Be targeted in your attendance by searching out those you want to talk to. Remember people generally love talking about their achievements so prepare some questions in advance and don’t be scared to ask because generally those at events want to engage, help and reward enthusiasm. If you are from a WP background or working class like me! dont be scared to say that and what you’re looking for is to grow your network so you can obtain opportunities to rise. This is powerful and a real call to arms for people often resulting in an offer of work experience or an invite to engage further.

Además de asistir a eventos, prepárate para hablar en público , no hay que tener miedo, practica frente al espejo, con tus amigos, debes manejar esta habilidad de comunicación, es muy importante.
