- In my experience if you continually remind your team of their goals and empower them through building key relationships, they not only become focused on the goals at hand but also have a desire to please their leader/friend. Technology is good, but has its place. People feel micromanaged when they become aware of tracking methods and can become weighed down by this. Ultimately hindering progress.

It is a great habit to assess meetings' effectiveness every quarter and decide if it is worth time or not. A discussion with stakeholders helps collecting feedback on prospectives and taking decision.

One thing I've found useful is to utilise lists to set priorities, track any downtime encountered during this priority action. The downtime can be classified as obstacles for this exercise. Then look for quick wins to remove obstacles. Small improvements can yield big productivity increases. If I take these actions it allows my team to be more productive, however the team must have input into the exercise.
