If the desired funding is not coming through, then it is time to proactively seek feedback not only from those who declined but also from those who are in a similar position. One can be following all the rules of communication yet still be missing something to secure the funding. Securing investment and making a pitch is more than just persuasive communication. It requires: 1.doing your 'homework' or research or 'groundwork', 2.understanding 'who' you are making the pitch to, and making sure they know you are coming with a strong team 3. appreciating the context and external trends, and 4. knowing your USP and "speaking the language" of your investor, 5. Being authentic and communicating with simplicity and originality
