One thing I've learned the hard way in my own coaching business is that personal branding is critical to getting visibility and recognition. When people can tie your brand to a clear message that helps you stand out, they are more likely to recognize you as an expert. Even if you're at the start of your business, consider working with a branding expert or messaging expert to get clear on what you want your brand to stand for and how you want it to appear to others.

One thing that I have found helpful to understand as a coach over the years that the sessions I am privileged to conduct with leaders and teams is there time and not about recognition for myself. When first beginning as a coach I wanted to "solve" problems as that is how I found success as a leader so I looked for the recognition from my organization, it was in my DNA from the corporate roles. As a coach, the greatest reward is to witness the growth of my clients as they strive to reach their full potential where we pause to reflect on their success. Don't get twisted looking for personal recognition in coaching as it can cause the sessions to become focused on yourself looking for the "ah-ha" moments rather than your clientele.
