What do you do if your motivation as a teacher wavers after facing setbacks in the classroom?

The secret is to use the way our brain works in our favor. I am talking about brain neuroplasticity, if you create the habit to have fun in the process, you will NEVER depend on motivation, it will become an extention of yourself, so everytime you′re having a bad day, that doesn′t affect your work performance, it′s quite the oposite, the moment you are working making stop thinking of whatever is bothering you, you feel useful. So make sure to work in a way that it′s not only productive and effective but fun.

Seek Support... Reach out to colleagues, mentors, or a support network for guidance and encouragement. Sharing experiences with others can provide perspective and offer practical strategies for overcoming obstacles. Focus on Successes... Remind yourself of the positive impact you've had on students' lives. Celebrate small victories and acknowledge the progress students have made, even in the face of challenges. Set Realistic Goals... Break down larger goals into smaller, more manageable tasks. Setting achievable goals can help regain a sense of accomplishment and momentum.

Keep learning, what lectures, stand up comedy, interviews whatever inspires you to be a better comunicator and make real human conections, share your knowledge with others and always ask for help and feedbacks.

Understand that learning is a matter of frequency and consistency, if you need faster results, you will have to make sure your students are interacting constantly with the topics you want them to learn. Have you expectations grounded in the latest scientific findings about the neuroscience of learning.

Try more than one teaching method, see them as tools that will fit your student′s needs, the same way a hammer is not fit to fix a screw, some methods as less eficient depending on the student′s profile.

Have a routine where you have time to also be a student learning something you have passion, with someone that inspires you, that you give you some extra energy and motivation to keep going.
