1 Understand their challenges

Una forma de identificar fortalezas es hacer un ejercicio donde el mentee haga una lista de los problemas que ha resuelto, los retos que ha superado o los proyectos que ha dirigido en su carrera profesional. Qué resultados o beneficios trajo a la empresa? Para cada uno de esos logros que identifique que habilidades técnicas, habilidades blandas y conocimientos puso en práctica para llegar a ese resultado.

A mi me ha resultado util pedirle al coachee que piense en una persona que admira y que le gustaría llegar a ser con el o como ella, luego que identifique cuales son las características, competencias, habilidades de esa persona y por último identificar que de lo que escribió de esa persona aún no ha desarrollado el o la coachee.
