You should follow these steps: - Interview the key stakeholders in the business - Learn the revenue streams and the competitive advantages of each. - Create messages first, not graphics. Use your competitive advantages at the forefront of you headlines. - Create a strategy on a Gannt Chart to speak to each sector/job title using the marketing discipline that they would use on a frequent basis. - Measure, rinse and repeat. Often, the lack of strategic thinking or team motivation is down to a lack of real understanding of where your business is competitive.
