What do you do if your inventory management system is costing you more than it's worth?

As per my view its depend on various factors, so we need to check following things first: 1- How much inventory should be in ideal scenario. 2- Is it only for peak season or for the entire year 3- What is the exact variance. 4- Identify and analyze the reasons like pricing, over purchasing, OS&D and Non moving etc. 4- Monitoring of all high value items and before order placing and fixed the KRA of SCM team.

It's obviously we know within that particular span of time the cost is higher but in another in way if we produce more output on that particular Period and hold it for a while, so for sure when demand increases we will deliver those materials to compensate our prior cost...
