Their are no "magic" technolgically bullets to solve problems and with the constant expansion in capability and complexity of IT systems, vulnerabilities will only increase. In the next decade we can look forward to increasing cyber attacks by state/ state sponsored actors, exploiting the inherent anonymity of attacks as a means of exerting economic/political pressure. Cloud computing despite its compelling financial benefits will increase the impact of attacks/accidents as processing is concentrated in ever fewer physical locations. Finally, the foundation of cyber security, encryption technologies, will be undermined by Quantum Computing and AI systems developed using math based, rather than language based models.
