What do you do if your ideas and initiatives aren't gaining traction through public speaking?

I agree with making sure you SEE they are with you. And assessing feedback after. I have started meetings with a reminder, that "this is a conversation." Adding that, " you are allowed to interrupt me to ask a question, and if I see a question on your face, I am allowed to ask you". I don't remember who said it, but, "the problem with communication is the ASSUMPTION that it took place."

When you come to know this you will have to thread in their direction and make sure you input some jokes or funny stories to lighten up the mood while they get more engaged and glued to you. Sometimes we are so overwhelmed with the finding of the problem and associated solution to it that we really forget to ensure that the problem which we are addressing is a real problem or not to solve .
