What do you do if your Higher Education teaching methods need a boost from inductive reasoning?

To boost my teaching methods with inductive reasoning, I guide students to seek the “Principle of Commonality and Law of Individuality interlinked consensus”.

They don't, but if I was mentoring someone who was new to the role, I would recommend them to "stick with the winners" by seeking out the top performers in the organisation and modelling their recommendations. This is more difficult to do in organisations which don't use effective management information systems (as I understand many old-world universities still do not) as those who talk the most often tend not to be the ones with the best practice. I learned a large part of my professional practice from those who I invited, or offered, to mentor me.

I agree with the use of case studies and collaborative work. Students want to know how the material applies to their lives and communities. I often use the small group discussion method and give students case studies to dive deeper into the issues that are important to them. This is successful because students seem to be more comfortable sharing in small groups and then sharing out broader points at the end in the larger group.

Se as premissas, generaliza??es e contextualiza??es iniciais est?o corretas, mesmo assim os resultados s?o imprevisíveis. Cada indivíduo recebe as mensagens que lhe chegam ao seu próprio modo, conforme sua própria história e cren?as. Perguntar é mais amplo que já expor as respostas, mas a má formula??o pode provocar conclus?es erradas. Nem sempre a cada conclus?o corresponde uma nova pergunta, e precisamos de cuidados extras para a preserva??o dos resultados pretendidos. Muitas pessoas hoje interpretam ou aceitam argumentos somente que reforcem suas próprias cren?as, mesmo que estes argumentos sejam suas próprias conclus?es. Podem negar suas próprias respostas.

Estamos usando tais ferramentas neste momento, ent?o negar sua utilidade seria uma incoerência. Mas utilidade n?o sin?nimo de necessidade. O necessário mesmo é o estimulo ao senso crítico, sem impor ideologias ou condicionamentos e sem limitar possibilidades. Aqui mesmo há uma limita??o, que é a quantidade de caracteres utilizados. A infinitude das possibilidades das inteligências humanas permite argumenta??es que nem sempre cabem no espa?o (social, físico, virtual...) dado. Assim, entendo que a tecnologia mal utilizada pode ser até mais cerceadora, limitadora, do que o n?o uso dela.

Some teaching exercises that are consistently in rotation for my classes are current events (I’m always surprised at how some students are a bit unplugged with current events because they’re so busy with school), debate, think pair share, AND mental health days. My students get two mental heath days a semester. Exhaustion is truly the thief of creativity. And that goes for professors too. When it comes to the multiple choice exams, they’re easier to administer, and score. But I think we all know that they don’t foster critical thinking. When we’re exhausted, we also can’t come up with creative teaching methods.

The AI answers completely miss the point of this question. If the goal is to "boost" inductive reasoning then 1) definite inductive reasoning for students in an approachable way and explain/discuss it using quality and relatable examples. 2) Have students practice inductive reasoning with discipline-relevant examples themselves, in writing, group work, and/or whole class discussion. 3) Then provide timely and relevant feedback specific for students about what they are doing well and what needs improvement, hopefully with a personal touch. AI predictive text is far from being able to replace actual quality teaching, even on the basic level of a lesson-plan.
