In my experience, sitting down one-on-one with demotivated employees is a critical first step. Have a chat to see what's going on. Be inquisitive, sensitive and ready to listen. Something is going on, likely outside of work, and it is amazing what a little genuine empathy and concern can do for one's morale, and subsequent performance.

In my opinion, the most important prerequisite for adopting a suitable solution is to first recognize the cause of lack of motivation. Is motivation lost due to unclear goals? Or the lack of encouragement and rewards for successes and achievements? Is the work environment dynamic? Are training and career development opportunities considered? Is there an open communication? Is there a balance between work and life? Are you a professional and ethical leader or just a capable manager?

Oftentimes, one of the biggest causes for employee demotivation or decrease in their performance is the performance of the people in managing roles. When someone is appreciated and feels like their efforts are being recognized it brings out the best in them. When it seems like no matter what they do, they are just a number, they do less because it seemingly doesn't matter. Especially when they see others, who perform at a lower level than them being rewarded for no effort it can be disheartening. The biggest thing is to remember that we are all people. We all want to feel valued and respected. When we are it brings out the best in us.

The success behind my plans for effective operations is the motivation that i have been providing to the employees for better development of their career and moreover i try to understand what is bothering them. Employee who has been doing good all the time may be unable sometime and in that case what i have been doing is sitting one on one meeting and making it informal so that the employee can open up. Only tyen we willbe able to know the real cause.
