Remember, people like to work with people they like and get along with helps with the collaboration, productivity and innovation. However, it has to be genuine. Otherwise, in one way or the other... it will be showed. Seek connections, ask for help (difficult one, i know!) and also give support to others. You might not see the results straight away, however you will see it sooner or later.

Personal branding is very important. Not only in social networks like LinkedIn (which is also important) but also among your colleagues. As they say: It's not what you know, but who you know.

When it comes to personal branding, it is not about showing what you are not... its all about showing other who you really are, your uniqueness and way of adding value. It is important to draw a line here with the "ego". And ask yourself, would you refer to work with a down to earth person? or would you rather work with someone arrogant?

I make sure my LinkedIn profile is current, actively engage with relevant content on social media, and contribute to e-commerce blogs and publications. In general, an executive career in any industry requires the development of managerial rather than technical skills. Be careful not to focus on being the best in your position and neglect the managerial aspect.
