What do you do if your creative problem-solving skills are not adaptable enough?

It's essential to invest in further development and diversification. Engage in activities that foster flexibility and agility, such as brainstorming sessions with diverse teams, exploring different problem-solving methodologies, and seeking out challenging projects outside your comfort zone. Embrace a growth mindset, viewing setbacks as opportunities for learning and adaptation. Seek feedback from peers and mentors to identify areas for improvement and implement changes accordingly. By continuously honing your skills and embracing adaptability, you can enhance your creative problem-solving capabilities to tackle a broader range of challenges effectively.

If Problem solving solutions are not adaptable. Then analysing the gap where I miss the Creative thinking so people not adopting the Solutions and try to Analysing the and come with new solutions with new solutions.

You can easily improve your creative problem-solving skills by these steps. Spend time in the problem space and define it to its deepest level. Now try to understand the problem from at least 4 different perspectives, keeping in mind all those use cases. Come up with at least 3 solutions and prioritize them based on user needs. You got your creative solution.

Restart over and over again until it fits all the needs all the time, which inherently means always restarting over and over again, because most solutions aren't flexible and dynamic enough the way new stakeholders see it's adaptability. Be curious and seek new knowledge. The world is changing and if you already have the tools of creative problem solving in your cognitive arsenal, you can very well utilise them and keep them sharp by applying them to newer challenges and scenarios. Often you will fall short of adapting to new situations because you have not developed a good foundation understanding of the subject matter, grappled sufficiently with its various elements and built your vocabulary to think about it from various perspectives. Once you are confident about the domain, your creative problem solving skills will blossom!

A few years ago, I put together a think tank of my subordinates, We gamified a problem solving by providing the problem ( a perplexing technical issue) and having the participants work together as a team of detectives, using Sherlock Holmes as the model. They solved the problem in three weeks at 12 hours per team per week, the winning team got bragging rights, and everyone got to participate in a murder mystery dinner.. they loved. I was inspired by the movie "Clue" from the nineties, staring Tim Curry.

Creativity and adaptation go hand in hand. Creativity is for the brave and daring, for those who want to change the world, or at least their world. Creativity implies change and change implies adaptation. Being willing and able to adapt to the constant changes in today's BANI environment is essential.
