I've had such experiences in my career. In many instances, this stems from a difference in opinion or process where one party believes an issue should be handled in one way while the other party thinks otherwise. In such instances, communicating directly has helped to clarify these differences. In other instances, it may be worth it to let the issues go by allowing the other party to have it their way in as much as it doesn't hurt the business or lead to a misrepresentation of facts. It is important that such communication does not lead to a breakdown in work relationships or impact significantly on the ability to deliver on the job.
