Depends… I would actually simplify my understanding of “career” as everyone know by now experience is great but skills are the currency. I would evaluate what skill I need or to strengthen and create a plan based on skill development, this shouldn’t stop your normal work but instead focuses more attention on perfecting your craft. Example: in my new role I want to develop my implementation skills. I would like to ensure that each skill needed are developing on the way to Implementation. My goal is to create an HR program from start to finish but implementing is my quarterly goal. Hope this makes sense.
