It’s absolutely ok to fail. And it’s absolutely ok to be sad/mad/frustrated/(whatever feeling you have). The trick lies in how fast you overcome this. Don’t suppress your emotion but use it as source of “new energy”. You can be frustrated for a day, week, month, year, or longer. The longer you stay in that emotional state, the longer you’re blocking yourself from progressing. Failing and derailing are not necessarily a negative thing. Think about it: derailing means you pick up a new path.

Ask yourself questions such as “what was supposed to happen or what was expected?”, “what happened?”, “why did it happen?”, “what did I/we do to get there?”. Make sure you answer these questions very honestly. Otherwise, it’s just waste of time and energy.

I don’t think it’s necessary to change your “life” goals but you will need to create new goals - or milestones - to get going. Use your findings and learnings to define these. Ultimately, you can get back on track to achieve your life goals.
